{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Silver rounds offer collectors and investors more flexibility in terms of weight options than most silver coins. While many silver bullion coins are limited to a 1 oz size, silver rounds are often produced in a broader range of weights, including fractional sizes. Among these, 1/2 oz silver rounds are a great choice for those looking for variety and affordability. You can now order varied 1/2 oz Silver Rounds online from BGASC.
Highlights:
Each 1/2 oz Silver Round comes in a protective flip and is selected at random. Because this is a varied listing, specific designs cannot be requested. If you buy more than one, you may receive rounds that look alike or a mix of different designs. Please note that we cannot guarantee any given design and that the photos used in this listing are for visual representation only.
Designs
A well-known design used on some 1/2 oz silver rounds is the Incuse Indian. This design first appeared on the $2.50 Gold Eagle coin in the early 1900s. The obverse side features a left-facing portrait of a Native American in a feathered headdress. These rounds are called Incuse Indian because the design elements are pressed into the surface, rather than being raised.
The Walking Liberty design is another familiar image found on 1/2 oz silver rounds. This design was originally used on the US Mints Half Dollar coins issued from 1916 through 1947. It shows Lady Liberty walking left toward the sunrise, wrapped in the American flag. The reverse shows a bald eagle perched on a branch, with wings tucked close and an olive branch in its talons.
Not all 1/2 oz rounds follow historical coin themes. For example, Sunshine Mint produces a 1/2 oz Silver Round that showcases its own logo. This design includes an eagle flying head-on with its wings spread and talons reaching downward, all set against a backdrop of sun rays.
History
Fractional silver rounds are popular with buyers who want to diversify their silver holdings or find specific designs not often seen in larger coin programs. Many of the available 1/2 oz silver rounds take inspiration from classic American coinage, giving collectors a chance to own designs with historical significance in a new format.
