Each release in the First Spouse series showcases a portrait of a First Spouse on the obverse, while the reverse design highlights their individual contributions or legacy. Highlights:
Each of the 1/2 oz First Spouse Gold Coins offered here has earned a Mint State 70 grade. This means the coins were certified to be in perfect condition, with full original luster and no noticeable flaws. At BGASC, these 1/2 oz First Spouse Gold Coins are available from various years throughout the series. The program began in 2007 and continued through 2016. The series does not yet include spouses of presidents who followed George H.W. Bush, as those presidents have not appeared in the $1 Presidential series so far. Some coins may feature different label styles, but these are chosen at random and cannot be selected in advance.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 1/2 oz First Spouse Gold Coins includes a portrait of a First Spouse. This began with Martha Washington in the first release of 2007. Coins are issued in the order that each President served. In cases where the President was not married during his presidencysuch as Thomas Jefferson or James Buchanana classic Liberty image is used instead of a spouse.
Reverse
The reverse design is meant to recognize the contributions and influence of the First Spouse during their time in the White House. Each coins reverse includes imagery that reflects the role or legacy of that individual.
History
While the U.S. Mint produced both proof and uncirculated versions of these coins, this particular listing is for uncirculated coins that received the highest grade of Mint State 70. Proof versions are not included here.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
BGASC is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
