These coins are struck with 1/4 troy ounce of pure gold and composed of 22k (91.67%) gold. Obverse
The obverse of the Krugerrand shows a portrait of Paul Kruger, who served as South Africas state president and was a key figure in the Boer resistance during the Second Boer War. His familiar image is paired with inscriptions of the countrys name in both Afrikaans (Suid-Afrika) and English (South Africa).
Reverse
The reverse of the coin displays the graceful springbok antelope, a national symbol shown leaping through the grasslands of its natural habitat. The year of issue is split to either side of the animal, while the coins weight, purity, and series title encircle the outer edge.
History
The Gold Krugerrand was originally issued in 1967 to help promote South Africas gold production and remains one of the worlds most recognized bullion coins today. This 1/4 oz version represents the third-largest size in the Krugerrand series. Each coin measures 22.06 mm across and contains 91.67% gold (22 karats). Coins in this listing come from various mintage years and are shipped based on current availability. Every coin will arrive in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, housed in a protective flip or, for larger quantities, a sealed tube.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
