{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Theres a new set of Silverbacks out for collectors, and it focuses on the gods who were said to live on Mount Olympus. In Greek mythology, the Olympians oversaw both divine and human events, sometimes acting with wisdom and other times with jealousy or impatience. The first note in the Legends of Olympus Series features Hades. Right now, 1 Hades Silverback Silver Notes are available from BGASC.
Highlights:
Each 1 Hades Silverback Silver Note is offered in a plastic currency sleeve for protection, and bulk orders are available in packs of 100 notes. Silverbacks are popular because they provide a very small amount of silver in an easy-to-collect format, and this one contains 1/1000 troy ounce of .999 pure silver. As the first release in the Legends of Olympus Series, this Hades note starts a lineup that will explore well-known Olympian figures from Greek mythology.
Design
The obverse design features Hades holding the leash of Cerberus, his terrifying three-headed hound who guarded the entrance to the underworld. In Greek belief, the underworld was a massive hidden kingdom beneath the earth where every persons soul traveled after death, regardless of their actions in life. Cerberus served as a fearsome gatekeeper, allowing souls to enter while ensuring none could escape back to the world of the living. The reverse side includes a mirrored version of the main design, offering a reflected image that matches the look and layout of the obverse artwork.
History
Although he is often missing from the usual list of twelve Olympians, Hades was still one of the key gods in Greek tradition. After joining Zeus and Poseidon in overthrowing the Titans, he became ruler of the underworld and maintained order in the realm of the dead. Many modern retellings paint him as a villain, but in classic myth he is more commonly shown as strict and serious, carrying out his duty with a sense of fairness and staying removed from everyday human conflicts.
