{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Since its release in 1986, the American Silver Eagle has been the United States Mints premier silver bullion coin. Minted each year in a 1 oz weight, these coins are admired for their historic design and silver content. BGASC now offers 1 oz American Silver Eagles from random years, each certified with a Mint State 69 grade.
Highlights:
This listing includes one 1 oz American Silver Eagle coin with a Mint State 69 grade. Coins in this grade are nearly perfect, with bright original luster and very few flaws. Each coin is housed in a plastic slab and certified by either the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), or the Certified Acceptance Corporation (CAC). Labels may vary, with some coins featuring Early Release or First Strike designations. In some cases, a CAC sticker may be included on the slab.
Both First Strike and Early Release labels identify coins that were submitted for grading within 30 days of the Mints official release. These labels are useful for collectors who want to track the coins early grading status.
Obverse
The obverse of each Silver Eagle showcases Walking Liberty, a classic design by Adolph A. Weinman. Liberty is shown walking toward the sun with her arm out and branches of oak and laurel in the other. This design first appeared on the half dollar in 1916 and has been used on the Silver Eagle since the coin’s launch.
Reverse
The reverse of the Silver Eagle will vary by mintage year. Coins issued from 1986 to mid-2021 feature John Mercantis heraldic eagle with shield. Coins released from mid-2021 onward feature Emily Damstras updated eagle, shown flying with an oak branch in its claws.
History
The US Mint has issued American Silver Eagle bullion coins every year since the series began. These coins are recognized for their patriotic artwork and have become a dependable option for silver buyers. Each one is backed by the United States government and carries a $1 face value.
