{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Christmas is celebrated with familiar symbols that bring warmth, meaning, and tradition to the season. Angels are commonly displayed on trees and mantels as reminders of the heavenly messengers from the nativity story. Twinkling Christmas lights brighten homes and create a festive atmosphere. The Christmas tree, often placed near a warm fireplace, has become a central part of holiday celebrations, while Santa Claus embodies generosity and the sense of wonder that makes the season special. BGASC now offers 1 oz Colorized Christmas Lights Silver Rounds.
Highlights:
All 1 oz Colorized Christmas Lights Silver Rounds from BGASC are protected in individual capsules. They feature a heartwarming colorized design on the obverse that captures the charm of the holiday season.
Design
On the obverse, the rounds depict a snowy nighttime scene with a single house adorned with bright Christmas lights. Outdoor holiday light displays became more common in the mid-20th century, evolving from simple string lights to more elaborate setups. The reverse of the round has a blank central field framed by a festive border, including all the required hallmarks.
History
The tradition of Christmas lights grew out of placing candles on Christmas trees, a practice that was popular in Germany during the 17th and 18th centuries. Candles created a magical glow but also posed fire risks. In 1882, Edward Johnson, who worked with Thomas Edison, created the first electric Christmas lights by hand-wiring 80 red, white, and blue bulbs on a rotating tree in New York City.
