{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Founded in 1902 by Charles W. Engelhard Sr., Engelhard Corporation became one of the most respected companies in precious metals refining and production. Through MTB and the MKS PAMP Group, Engelhard-branded bullion is being reintroduced. These new issues are modern recreations of original Engelhard products, including silver rounds based on the well-known 1982 Prospector Round. Right now, 1 oz Engelhard Prospector Silver Rounds are available at BGASC.
Highlights:
These 1 oz Engelhard Prospector Silver Rounds come with a proof-like appearance, offering frosted design details against reflective background fields. Each round is packaged in a protective flip, while larger orders are shipped in tubes of 20 or Monster Boxes of 500, with 25 tubes per box.
Obverse
The obverse of the Engelhard Prospector Silver Round includes the companys historic logo. The image shows a bold letter E at the center of a globe design, with the Engelhard name above it and clear markings of the weight, metal, and purity below.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 1 oz Engelhard Prospector Silver Round is the iconic American prospector design. This artwork depicts a miner using a pan in a creek, a method that was widely used during the 19th century for both gold and silver prospecting.
History
Engelhards standing in the industry was built on new refining processes and key acquisitions, supplying metals for a variety of fields such as jewelry, electronics, and automotive catalysts. The company pioneered industrial uses for platinum group metals and continued to be active in manufacturing and trading until BASF acquired Engelhard in 2006 for around $5 billion, closing a long chapter for one of the top independent names in precious metals.
