{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026 has inspired many commemorative bullion releases that celebrate the nations history and enduring legacy. These collectible copper rounds offer an affordable and lasting way to recognize this milestone while featuring one of the most famous coin designs in American history. Right now, 1 oz Reverse Proof Sunshine Buffalo Copper Rounds with an America250 privy are available online from BGASC.
Highlights:
These 1 oz Reverse Proof Sunshine Buffalo Copper Rounds are available in individual protective flips or plastic tubes of 20 rounds. Each piece features a reverse-proof finish with frosted fields and reflective design details that help the artwork stand out across the surface of the round.
Obverse
The obverse design of the Reverse Proof Sunshine Buffalo Copper Round includes James Earle Frasers classic Native American portrait. Shown in right-profile relief, the design was inspired by several Native American chiefs Fraser met while creating the artwork. The detailed portrait has remained one of the most recognizable images from early American coinage. The America250 privy is also featured on this side.
Reverse
For the reverse design of the 1 oz Reverse Proof Buffalo Copper Round, Frasers American bison image is displayed. Based on Black Diamond, the famous bison that served as Frasers model, the animal is shown standing on rugged ground in a realistic outdoor setting that helped define the Buffalo Nickels unique style.
History
The Buffalo Nickel was introduced as part of President Theodore Roosevelts effort to improve the appearance of American coins. Fraser was chosen to design a coin that reflected the culture and landscape of the United States. Drawing inspiration from his frontier upbringing, Fraser created imagery that remains widely collected and admired more than a century later.
