{{/presale}}The SS Tilawa, often called the “Indian Titanic,” met a tragic end in the Indian Ocean during World War II. Torpedoed by Japanese forces while sailing from Bombay to Durban, the ship never reached its destination. Among the losses were 2,364 silver bars, which sank with the vessel. After lying on the ocean floor for decades, a 2017 recovery mission salvaged around 60 tons of silver, leading to the creation of the SS Tilawa Shipwreck Silver Series. Right now, 100 oz S.S. Tilawa Shipwreck Silver Bars are available from BGASC.

Each 100 oz S.S. Tilawa Shipwreck Silver Bar comes in protective plastic and is crafted from silver recovered from the sunken SS Tilawa. This British India Steam Navigation Company liner was torpedoed in 1942, sending both passengers and valuable silver to the ocean floor.

The obverse of each S.S. Tilawa Shipwreck Silver Bar displays an emblem representing the SS Tilawa. The design includes the ships silhouette above stylized waves, along with details about the series and the vessel. Below the emblem, youll find the silver content and purity markings.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 100 oz S.S. Tilawa Shipwreck Silver Bar, youll see an image of the SS Tilawa sailing across calm waters, with the background featuring a rippling wave effect.
History
The SS Tilawa Shipwreck Silver Series celebrates the recovery of this long-lost treasure. The SS Tilawa was sunk by a Japanese submarine on November 23, 1942, while carrying 60 tons of silver bullion. After its rediscovery in 2014, a recovery mission in 2017 brought this silver back to the surface, and these newly minted bars now offer a tangible connection to that history.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
