Each 1879-S Morgan Silver Dollar Coin comes in a protective slab with an NGC Mint State 66 grade. These coins often display above-average luster with only a few contact marks, some visible in key areas. Light hairlines may be present but are not noticeable without magnification. A CAC sticker verifies the accuracy of the grade.
Obverse
The obverse of the 1879-S Silver Morgan Dollar carries George T. Morgans well-known Liberty design. Shown in left-profile, Liberty wears a Phrygian cap and is crowned with both a laurel wreath and a coronet, representing freedom and honor.
Reverse
For the reverse, Morgans heraldic eagle design is featured. The eagle spreads its wings wide while grasping arrows and an olive branch, a simple symbol of Americas defense and peace goals.
History
In 1879, silver mining in the United States reached new levels. The Comstock Lode in Nevada continued its output, while major strikes in Colorados Leadville district increased production dramatically. Improved mining technology and new railroads made silver extraction faster and cheaper, fueling ongoing debates about silvers role in the nations money supply.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
