{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907, the $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coin was the final design for the United States oldest gold coin denomination. Originally introduced in 1795, the $10 Eagle featured two earlier designs before the introduction of Saint-Gaudens Indian Gold Eagle design. Today, 1932 Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coins are available from BGASC.
Highlights:
Each 1932 Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coin in this listing has been graded MS62. This grade indicates coins with soft mint luster and clusters of small marks, along with the potential for a few larger marks in key areas. Coins are sealed in slabs that may feature different label designs, and we cannot guarantee whether the grading company is PCGS or NGC. All coins are certified as MS62.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 1932 $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coin, Liberty is depicted wearing a headdress reminiscent of Native American ceremonial attire. Known as the “Indian Head” design, it includes 13 stars in an arch above Libertys bust and the year of issue beneath the portrait.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1932 $10 Indian Gold Eagle features a bald eagle perched on a sheaf of arrows bound together with an olive branch. This design was initially created by Saint-Gaudens for the US Penny but was ultimately used for the $10 Eagle at the request of President Roosevelt. This design remains a testament to Saint-Gaudens skill and the artistic focus of early 20th-century American coinage.
History
The $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coin design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens is considered one of the finest in American numismatic history. Featuring a portrait of Liberty with an indigenous headdress and a bald eagle perched on arrows, this design exemplifies the Renaissance of American coinage spearheaded by President Theodore Roosevelt.
