Highlights:
Each 1987-S 1/10 oz Chinese Gold Panda Coin is shipped inside a protective flip. The Shanghai Mint struck these coins, marked with the S mint mark. In 1987, the series saw contributions from both Shanghai and Shenyang Mints, creating the only year in which two facilities produced Gold Pandas.
Obverse
The obverse of the 1987-S Chinese Gold Panda continues to feature the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, part of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. Since 1982, this structure has been the central design on the obverse of the series.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 1987-S 1/10 oz Gold Panda, youll find a Giant Panda leaning over to drink from a pond. This artwork was used only for the 1987 release, making it distinct to the year. Pandas are often described as round-faced and gentle, but they are also well equipped with powerful jaws and molars for eating bamboo.
History
Giant pandas are best known for their distinctive markings. Their black fur around the eyes, ears, legs, and shoulders contrasts with the white of their faces and bodies. Adapted to mountain habitats, they have thick fur and a strong frame. Full-grown pandas typically weigh 220 to 330 pounds and may reach six feet in length.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
