Obverse
The obverse of the 2013-W US Mint First Spouse Ellen Wilson Gold Coin features a detailed portrait of Ellen Wilson. She was an advocate for social reform and pushed for improved housing conditions in Washington, D.C. After her passing, Congress passed the Alley Dwelling Act, which became known as Mrs. Wilsons Bill in recognition of her efforts.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2013-W 1/2 oz First Spouse Ellen Wilson Gold Coin, roses symbolize her impact on the White House grounds. Ellen Wilson played a key role in redesigning the Rose Garden and also established a painting studio on the White House roof.
History
President Woodrow Wilson is one of only two US presidents to have had two First Ladies while in office. His first wife, Ellen Wilson, was with him from 1913 until her passing in 1914. In addition to being an accomplished artist, she was also the first presidential spouse to hold a college degree.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
