The reverse of the 2013-W 1/2 oz First Spouse Ida McKinley Gold Coin highlights her love of crocheting. She dedicated herself to crafting thousands of slippers, which were sold to benefit childrens charities and other causes.
History
Ida McKinley, born in 1847, married William McKinley in 1871. Throughout her marriage, she battled epilepsy and other health conditions that prevented her from fulfilling many traditional First Lady responsibilities. However, President McKinleys unwavering support allowed her to remain a visible presence in the White House.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
