Each 2016-W American Gold 100th Anniversary Centennial 3-Coin Set includes coins graded Mint State 70, meaning they have no visible flaws and full mint brilliance. The First Strike label notes that these coins were submitted for grading within 30 days of their release.
Obverse
The obverse side of each coin in the 2016-W Gold 100th Anniversary Centennial 3-Coin Set displays a version of Liberty. Adolph A. Weinmans Walking Liberty design appears on the 1/2 oz coin, his Winged Liberty appears on the 1/10 oz coin, and Hermon Atkins MacNeils Standing Liberty is seen on the 1/4 oz coin.
Reverse
For the reverse, the U.S. Mint restored the original images from each coins 1916 design. The 1/2 oz gold coin shows Weinmans bald eagle resting on a rock ledge, the 1/10 oz coin features the Roman fasces wrapped in an olive branch, and the 1/4 oz coin displays MacNeils bald eagle soaring above.
History
The American Gold Centennial Series marks an important chapter in U.S. coin history, celebrating the transition from the Barber series to modern designs. Charles E. Barbers coinage had been in use since 1892 before being replaced in 1916 by the new works of Weinman and MacNeil. These designs are now among the most beloved in U.S. Mint history.

Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
