Obverse
The obverse of the 2019 coin brings back the Western unicorn image. This figure is typically shown as a white horse-like animal with a spiraled horn. Its often tied to meanings like purity, calmness, and spiritual power in Western legends.
Reverse
On the reverse, the Eastern unicorn is shown in the form of the qilin. Unlike its Western counterpart, the qilin has a more complex designa mix of several creatures, including deer, ox, and dragon. With multiple antlers and a scaled body, it represents good fortune and peaceful intentions in Chinese mythology.
History
Originally issued by the People’s Bank of China, the 1994 Chinese Unicorn Coin became part of a collectible series known for its unique depictions of unicorns. These coins came in silver, gold, and platinum, and carried face values from 5 to 100 yuan, depending on size and metal type.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
