In the design, she is shown in right-profile relief wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2019 Australian Gold Swan features a family of swans. The exclusive design for this year portrays an adult swan swimming atop the water in right-profile relief, accompanied by a young hatchling. In the background, another adult swan is seen swimming in left-profile relief.
History
These swans are monogamous, forming long-term pair bonds. During courtship, they engage in elaborate displays, including head bobbing, wing flapping, and neck curving. Nesting occurs close to the water’s edge, where they build large nests using reeds, grasses, and other vegetation.
