Each 2020 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Red-Tailed Hawk Coin is securely housed in a protective plastic flip. This release is part of the Royal Canadian Mints Birds of Prey Series, which originally debuted with 1 oz silver coins before expanding to smaller gold versions.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2020 Canadian Gold Red-Tailed Hawk Coin features a right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed by Susanna Blunt in 2003, this image of the Queen is notable for being the first on Canadian coinage to depict her without a crown.
Reverse
On the reverse, the red-tailed hawk is shown soaring through the sky, showcasing its impressive wingspan. These birds use their speed and precision to hunt, diving swiftly from above to capture small mammals with deadly accuracy.
History
Red-tailed hawks are highly adaptable raptors found throughout Canada. These birds prefer open spaces, including grasslands, woodlands, and even suburban areas where they can easily spot and capture their prey. Known for their sharp eyesight and exceptional hunting skills, red-tailed hawks play a key role in maintaining balance within the ecosystem.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
