Obverse
Coins within 2023 1/10 oz Canadian Maple Leaf Sheets feature the fourth-generation effigy of Her Majesty on the obverse field. Susanna Blunt created this image in 2003 with it being the first time Queen Elizabeth II has been without her crown. Inscriptions on this field include ELIZABETH II, 1952, 2022, 5 DOLLARS, and 2023.
Reverse
The sugar maple leaf by Walter Ott is seen on the reverse of all coins packaged inside 2023 Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Sheets. This image was created by Ott in 1979 and has been the reverse image of all coins in this program since its inception in 1979. Inscriptions on this field include CANADA, FINE GOLD, 1/10 OZ OR PUR, .9999, and .9999.
History
The Royal Canadian Mint has been issuing this bullion coin since 1979 and is the official production facility of the Canadian Government. It is responsible for the production of all of the nations official circulation coins and even produces circulation currency for nations around the globe. The Royal Canadian Mint opened its doors in 1908 out of Ottawa, now they have a second branch located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
