{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The Legendary Warriors Series from Pinehurst Coins was created to recognize historic figures known for their strength, leadership, and tactical ability. Struck in 2 oz of .999 fine silver, each coin in this 15-piece collection features a high-relief design that enhances the depth of the imagery. The series includes notable names such as Achilles, Alexander the Great, Spartacus, Joan of Arc, Genghis Khan, Geronimo, Sitting Bull, Leonidas, Miyamoto Musashi, and Hannibal. Currently, 2024 2 oz Antique Niue Silver Geronimo Coins in certified condition are available from BGASC.
Highlights:
Each 2024 2 oz Antique Niue Silver Geronimo Coin available here is housed in a protective slab with a Legendary Warriors label. Coins graded MS70 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation display full mint luster and no visible flaws. This grade indicates a perfect example. The antique finish, paired with selective 24-karat gold details and a high-relief strike, gives the coin a bold and textured appearance.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2024 Antique Niue Silver Geronimo Coin, you will see the Public Seal of Niue surrounded by a ring of historic weapons. Niue, located in the South Pacific, is a self-governing nation in free association with New Zealand. The country is known for authorizing commemorative coinage and granting legal tender status to limited mintage releases like this one.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2024 2 oz Antique Silver Geronimo Coin depicts Geronimo kneeling near a campfire with a rifle in his hands and his horse in the background. He became widely known for his persistence and leadership, organizing several escapes from the San Carlos Reservation between 1878 and 1885. He ultimately surrendered to General Nelson A. Miles in September 1886 after years of pursuit.
History
Born around 1829 and known as Goyahkla, Geronimo became an important Bedonkohe Apache leader and medicine man. He spent his early years in the Gila River region, living according to Apache traditions. In 1851, Mexican troops attacked his camp, killing close family members. This tragic event influenced the rest of his life and led him to resist both Mexican and American forces as they expanded into Apache territory.
