The reverse design is based on a 1935 artwork by George Kruger Gray, originally meant for King George Vs Silver Jubilee.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2025 British Gold St. George and the Dragon Coin, youll see King Charles III. This left-facing portrait shows him without a crown and was first issued by The Royal Mint in 2022 as his official image on British coinage.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025 1 oz Gold St. George and the Dragon Coin presents St. George in the act of slaying a dragon. The Royal Mint used George Kruger Grays 1930s Gothic Revival design, originally never released, to bring this moment to life in their modern coin series.
