Obverse

For the obverse of the 2025 EC8 Silver Anguilla Regatta Coin, the design features the seal of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. The ECCB initials appear in a flowing script style and are framed by fern branches. In addition to the seal, this side displays the coins identifying information.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 2025 1 oz EC8 Silver Anguilla Regatta Coin, a yacht is depicted racing through the waters near Anguilla. The island is famous for its sailing heritage and competitive racing boats. Known for their streamlined shapes and large sails, these vessels often rely on crew members leaning outward to counter the force of the wind during races.

History

Regatta events have long been part of Caribbean culture. Originally, the boats used for everyday activities such as fishing and transporting goods between islands became the focus of friendly races. These competitions allowed sailors to demonstrate their abilities while communities gathered to celebrate their shared connection to the sea.
