These 2025 1 oz EC8 Silver Dominica Mountain Chicken Coins are sold one at a time in sealed Certi-Lock cards provided by the Scottsdale Mint. Each example belongs to the Alpha Strike release, representing the first coins struck for this issue. Only 249 Alpha Strike coins have been produced for collectors.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2025 EC8 Silver Dominica Mountain Chicken Coin is the seal of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. The design centers on the ECCB initials surrounded by a palm branch wreath in a clean and understated style. The ECCB serves as the monetary authority for the EC8 series, and its emblem represents the trusted financial oversight and institutional strength behind every release.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025 1 oz EC8 Silver Dominica Mountain Chicken Coin displays the impressive Mountain Chicken frog. This large amphibian can reach lengths of up to 20 centimeters and weigh as much as 900 grams, making it one of the world’s largest frog species. Its muscular body and strong hind legs are well suited for traveling through the forests and waterways that form its habitat.
History
Scientists believe the ancestors of the Mountain Chicken reached Dominica and Montserrat from South America many millions of years ago. After becoming established on these isolated volcanic islands, the species evolved into the large frog known today. Throughout history, it has remained closely connected to the wildlife and traditions of both Caribbean islands.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
