{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Tower Mint has introduced its first Falkland Islands bullion coin series as a tribute to Remembrance Day, a moment each year to remember those who gave their lives in service. This includes the service members who died during the 1982 Falklands War, a brief conflict that resulted in 907 deaths. To observe this day, Tower Mint has struck gold and silver coins featuring the thoughtful image of the Angel of Mons. Today, 2025 1 oz Falkland Islands Silver Remembrance Day Coins are available from BGASC.
Highlights:
Each 2025 1 oz Falkland Islands Silver Remembrance Day Coin is presented in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Single coins are housed in individual plastic flips, while bulk orders come in boxes of 100. For the people of the Falkland Islands, Remembrance Day is especially meaningful because of the 1982 clash between Britain and Argentina over the islands. On November 11th each year, residents meet at the Cross of Sacrifice in Stanley to remember those lost in both World Wars as well as the Falklands War.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Falkland Islands Silver Remembrance Day Coin carries a left-facing portrait of King Charles III. He is shown without a crown in this modern effigy. Including the kings portrait underscores the islands connection to Britain and fits with Remembrance Day ceremonies that emphasize shared traditions and military service.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2025 1 oz Silver Remembrance Day Coin, the Angel of Mons appears in a field of poppies. She gently places her hand on the helmet of a kneeling British World War I infantryman beside her. This thoughtful design combines the poppy, a symbol of remembrance, with the comforting presence of the angel and the figure of a soldier in uniform.
History
At the center of the coins artwork is the Angel of Mons. This figure is drawn from a famous legend about a supernatural presence said to have appeared to British soldiers withdrawing from Mons, Belgium, in August 1914. In the most widely known versions, ghostly archers from the Battle of Agincourt or angelic figures are seen in the sky, helping protect the British Expeditionary Force from advancing German troops.
