Each 2025 1 oz Proof Australian Gold Koala Coin comes in its own packaging. The coin is housed in a black presentation case from The Perth Mint. It also includes a koala-themed outer sleeve and a Certificate of Authenticity. With its high-relief strike, the design offers deeper detail and a more layered look.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 Proof Gold Koala features a profile portrait of King Charles III. This left-facing design shows the king without a crown and was created in 2024 by artist Dan Thorne. It is the first image of King Charles III to appear on Perth Mint gold coins.
Reverse
The reverse shows a calm scene of a koala resting on a tree branch. Over time, Indigenous knowledge has provided valuable insight into how koalas move, where they live, and when they migrate. This information now plays an important part in conservation work that aims to protect the forests koalas depend on.
History
Koalas play different roles in the traditional stories of southeastern Aboriginal groups. In some tales, they were people who took animal form in sacred times. In others, they are remembered for their wisdom in helping communities locate water during dry seasons by climbing trees to spot distant streams. Their ability to live off eucalyptus leaves has made them a symbol of strength and survival in a harsh climate.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
