{{/presale}}An exciting new silver coin series begins in 2025, featuring playing-card style designs that focus on some of the most well-known crime families in the world. Kicking off the Five Families Series is a look at the Genovese crime family, which ruled over organized crime in New York City during the 19th and 20th centuries. Now, 2025 2 oz Antique Republic of Chad Silver Genovese Crime Family Coins are available for purchase from BGASC.
Highlights:
These 2025 2 oz Antique Republic of Chad Silver Genovese Crime Family Coins feature ultra-high-relief strikes and selective 24-karat gold layering. The obverse has gold accents on five emblems, while the reverse includes gilded guns and a cigar. Each coin is packaged in a presentation box and comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025 2 oz Antique Silver Genovese Crime Family Coin displays the Chadian coat of arms in the center. The design is based on a playing-card theme, with the rectangular shape of the coin and guns placed in each corner, where the suits of spades, hearts, clubs, and diamonds are typically found. Instead of those traditional suits, blood drops appear in their place.
Reverse
On the reverse of 2025 Antique Republic of Chad Silver Genovese Crime Family Coins, you’ll see an image of the Genovese crime family members, set against an Ace of Spades backdrop. Initially called the Morello crime family and later known as the Luciano crime family, the Genovese family emerged in the early 1890s in New York Citys Italian-American communities. Founded by Giuseppe “Joe the Boss” Morello, the family would eventually become one of the most powerful Mafia families in America.
History
In 1957, Vito Genovese seized control of the family, renaming it after himself after surviving an assassination attempt on the previous leader, Frank Costello. Known for its focus on secrecy, the Genovese family became one of the most organized and influential families, often referred to as the Ivy League of organized crime. Their use of “front bosses” helped conceal the true leadership from law enforcement.
