Invented by George Washington Gale Ferris Jr., the Ferris wheel made its debut in 1893 at the Worlds Columbian Exposition in Chicago. It was created to offer a new and exciting attraction in response to the Eiffel Tower, which had been a major draw at the 1889 Paris Exposition. This 2025 release from Perth Mint includes a real, spinning Ferris wheel in the middle of the design. Right now, 2025 2 oz Antique Tuvalu Silver Ferris Wheel Coins are available at BGASC.

  • 24-karat gilded layer on the inner Ferris wheel!
  • Multicolor Swarovski crystals inset in the Ferris wheel!
  • Limited mintage of only 2,000 coins!
  • Sold out at the mint!
  • Contains 2 Troy oz of .9999 pure silver.

  • Designed by Natasha Muhl.

Each 2025 2 oz Antique Tuvalu Silver Ferris Wheel Coin is shipped in a display case from the Perth Mint. The clear acrylic lid allows for easy viewing, and the outer box features a carnival theme. A Certificate of Authenticity is also included. The coin itself has an antique finish, and the center Ferris wheel is coated in 24-karat gold with Swarovski crystals visible from the reverse side.

Obverse

The obverse of the 2025 Antique Tuvalu Silver Ferris Wheel Coin shows King Charles III in left-profile. His image appears at the top of the design, with stars surrounding the outer rim. This side of the coin also includes inscriptions noting its weight, purity, and legal tender status.

Reverse

On the reverse, youll find a full-color carnival background that surrounds the antique finish. The main feature is the interactive Ferris wheel at the center, which is able to turn and adds a fun, detailed touch to the coins design.

History

The first Ferris wheel stood 264 feet tall and had 36 cars, each capable of seating up to 60 passengers. It could carry more than 2,000 people at a time and gave them sweeping views of the fairgrounds in Chicago. Since then, Ferris wheels have become a common sight at amusement parks and in cities around the world, with many now offering climate control, enclosed cabins, and decorative lighting.
