{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The history of the United States Marine Corps begins on November 10, 1775, when the Second Continental Congress voted to establish two battalions of Marines to serve with the Continental Navy. These early forces played an essential role during the Revolutionary War, laying the groundwork for centuries of Marine Corps service. The US Mint honors that legacy through its Armed Forces Privy Series, which includes a Proof American Silver Eagle featuring the Marine Corps Eagle, Globe, and Anchor emblem. BGASC now offers certified 2025-P 1 oz Proof Marine Corps Privy American Silver Eagle Coins.

Also present is the Marine Corps privy, which shows the eagle, globe, and fouled anchor emblem adopted in 1868 to represent service, worldwide readiness, and the Corps connection to the Navy.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025-P 1 oz Proof Marine Corps Privy Silver Eagle carries Emily Damstras modern depiction of an eagle in flight, introduced in 2020 and used since mid-2021. The bird holds an oak branch, symbolizing strength and perseverance.
History
During the War of 1812, Marines served in several major engagements both at sea and on land. On the USS Constitution, they contributed to victories against HMS Guerriere and HMS Java, where their sharpshooting was key. They also took part in defending Washington, D.C., fought at the Battle of Bladensburg, and stood with Andrew Jacksons troops in the defense of New Orleans in 1815.
