{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The creation of the United States Navy dates back to October 13, 1775, when the Continental Congress authorized the first naval fleet to aid the American Revolution. These early vessels, converted from merchant ships, were used to disrupt British supply routes and challenge naval control along the coast. To celebrate the Navys 250th anniversary in October 2025, the United States Mint has issued a Proof Silver Eagle with a unique US Navy privy mark. Right now, 2025-S 1 oz Proof Navy Privy American Silver Eagle Coins are available at BGASC in certified condition.
Highlights:
Each 2025-S 1 oz Proof Navy Privy American Silver Eagle Coin offered here is in near-perfect PR69 condition. These coins maintain strong mint luster with no more than two small surface marks or hairlines, all outside the primary focal points. The DCAM designation identifies a deep-cameo proof finish, with frosted designs contrasted against bright, mirror-like fields. First Strike coins were received for grading within the first 30 days after release from the mint.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025-S Proof Navy Privy American Silver Eagles presents Walking Liberty with the US Navy privy mark. Liberty moves left toward the sunrise, her figure wrapped in the American flag. The Navy privy shows a bald eagle facing forward, clutching an anchor.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025-S 1 oz Proof Navy Privy Silver Eagle Coin features a flying American bald eagle. Created in 2020 by artist Emily Damstra, the image portrays the eagle mid-flight, wings spread, holding an oak branch tightly in its talons.
History
In its early years, the US Navy achieved key victories during the Quasi-War with France (17981800) by capturing privateers and protecting American trade. It gained further recognition during the First Barbary War (18011805), when Lieutenant Stephen Decatur led a daring raid to destroy the captured USS Philadelphia at Tripoli harboran act praised as one of exceptional courage. These early triumphs demonstrated the Navys importance in defending American interests at sea.
