The Perth Mint produced only 20,000 coins in total, and the issue has already sold out at the mint. The horse featured on the reverse includes striking onyx colorization that highlights the animal within the design.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 Colorized Australian Gold Lunar Horse Coin displays the portrait of King Charles III. Introduced on Australian coinage in 2024, this effigy was designed by Dan Thorne. The design presents His Majesty in left-profile relief without a crown.
Reverse
For the reverse of the 2026 1/10 oz Colorized Gold Lunar Horse Coin, the design showcases a strong horse rising onto its hind legs. The horse is presented with onyx colorization, while the surrounding landscape includes grass below and a tall mountain peak in the background. The Perth Mints P mint mark is also included in the design.
History
In Chinese zodiac tradition, the Horse represents freedom, drive, and strong personal energy. When the Horse year coincides with the Fire element, it forms the Year of the Fire Horse, an event that occurs only once every sixty years. This combination is believed to heighten the natural traits of the Horse sign. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
