Born Norma Jeane Mortenson in 1926 in Los Angeles, she became one of the most recognizable figures in entertainment history. Obverse
The obverse design of the 2026 1/2 Gram Proof Gold Marilyn Monroe Coin features the coat of arms of the Republic of the Congo. A leopards head appears at the center of the shield, symbolizing strength. The shield is framed by a crossed elephant tusk and spear, representing national resources and sovereignty.
Reverse

History
The original scene took place in 1954 while filming The Seven Year Itch. Directed by Billy Wilder, the scene was photographed by Sam Shaw as a crowd gathered on Lexington Avenue. The resulting image has remained one of the most widely recognized photographs of the 20th century and is closely tied to Monroes lasting legacy.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
