Each 2026 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coin available here arrives in a sealed slab with an MS70 grade from NGC. This top grade indicates a coin with full luster and no visible imperfections under normal viewing. The Early Release label means NGC received the coins for grading within 30 days of their release by the mint.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2026 American Gold Eagles, the timeless Lady Liberty created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens takes center stage. First used on the $20 Double Eagle, Liberty is shown moving forward with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. Rays of sunlight rise behind her, the U.S. Capitol appears in the lower field, and stars line the rim.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2026 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coins features the modern bald eagle portrait debuted in 2020. Designed by Jennie Norris, this close-up view captures the eagles head in crisp detail, emphasizing both strength and realism.
History
The 1/2 oz Gold Eagle shares the same core design elements as the larger coins in the series, scaled for its 27mm diameter. The original reverse by Miley Busiek showed a family of eagles, keeping a consistent theme across the program. A refreshed reverse design was introduced in 2021 during the 35th anniversary celebration.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
