{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The American Gold Eagle has been the official gold bullion coin of the U.S. Mint since 1986. In 2026, this long-standing series celebrates its 40th year. The 1/4 oz Gold Eagle, though not always as widely discussed, has remained a consistent offering each year. It provides buyers with a fractional option that still carries all the key design elements of the series. BGASC is pleased to offer the 2026 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coin.
Highlights:
Each 2026 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins are individually housed in protective plastic flips, with larger orders available in tubes of 40. The face value of $10 (USD) stands apart from the 1 oz coins $50 base value and doesnt divide evenly across all four versions of the coin.
Obverse
The obverse design on the 2026 1/4 oz Gold Eagle showcases the work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. His iconic creation from 1907 presents a full-length image of Liberty moving forward, holding a torch and olive branch. This artwork has become a well-known representation of American ideals and strength in gold coin design.
Reverse
On the reverse, 2026 American Gold Eagles feature the more recent bald eagle portrait introduced in 2021. Designed by Jennie Norris, this image offers a left-profile view of the birds head with sharp details and a bold appearance. It marked a new chapter for the series during its 35th anniversary.
History
The 1/4 oz Gold Eagle shares a similar history with the 1/2 oz coin when it comes to production levels. Both coins saw peak mintage in 1986, the launch year, and have seen interest grow during times of financial instability. Despite this, neither has reached the debut years numbers again.
