Highlights:
These 2026 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coins come certified and protected inside durable plastic slabs. A Mint State 69 grade means the coin shows excellent eye appeal with full mint bloom and only the slightest evidence of handling. At most, you may find two tiny marks or faint hairlines, and they must be outside the main focal points of the design. The Early Release label applies to coins that reached NGC for grading within 30 days of the mints official launch.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 2026 American Gold Eagle showcases Augustus Saint-Gaudens iconic Lady Liberty. Dating to 1907 and originally created for the $20 Double Eagle, the image portrays Liberty walking forward confidently, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.
Reverse
For the reverse of the 2026 1/4 oz Gold Eagle, the mint uses Jennie Norris updated bald eagle portrait. Designed in 2020 and introduced to the series in 2021, it features a sharp left-profile view of the eagles head, focusing on realistic detail and depth.
History
The 1/4 oz Gold Eagle is one of the original fractional options established under the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985. First released in 1986, this denomination contains one-quarter troy ounce of 22-karat gold and carries a $10 face value. Its smaller size offers a practical way to buy into the Gold Eagle series while still holding the same gold content standards and government backing as larger coins.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
