Design
The 2026 Proof Solomon Islands FIFA World Cup Trophy Shaped Gold Coin features the design of the current World Cup Trophy. After the original trophy was retired in 1970, FIFA introduced a design competition for a replacement. Italian artist Silvio Gazzaniga created the chosen design, first awarded in 1974. His work shows figures rising upward to support the globe, representing achievement and the global reach of the sport. The obverse includes a portrait of King Charles III and the official FIFA 26 emblem.
History
The origins of the FIFA World Cup Trophy date back to the early days of international soccer competition. Jules Rimet, FIFAs third president, helped bring the first tournament to life in 1930 in Uruguay. The original trophy, first called Victory and later renamed the Coupe du Monde, was designed by Abel Lafleur and produced in gold-plated sterling silver with a lapis lazuli base.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
