{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is one of the longest-running gold bullion coins available to collectors and investors. First struck in 1979, it has stood alongside the South African Krugerrand for decades. Since then, the Gold Maple Leaf has grown from a single-coin release to a series offering six different weights each year. The 1 oz version remains the most widely purchased. Today, 2026 1 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins are available from BGASC.
Highlights:
Each 2026 1 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Singles ship in protective flips, while multiples are packaged in tubes of 10 or Monster Boxes of 500 coins containing 50 tubes in total. Each coin also carries the laser-engraved maple leaf privy mark on the reverse.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 Canadian Gold Maple Leaf features King Charles IIIs first official Canadian portrait. This left-profile effigy shows the King without a crown. Canadian artist Steven Rosati created this portrait, making him only the third Canadian to design a monarchs image for national coinage.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2026 1 oz Gold Maple Leaf carries Walter Otts sugar maple leaf design. This image, introduced in 1979 with the Gold Maple series, has since been used across Canadas full lineup of Maple Leaf bullion coins, including silver, platinum, and palladium issues.
History
The sugar maple is native to the northeastern and Great Lakes regions of North America, as well as Canadas Maritime Provinces. The trees growth range is narrower than many other species, stretching south along the Appalachian Mountains. Sugar maples require specific soil and climate conditions, preferring well-drained, slightly acidic soils and thriving in regions with cold winters and moderate summers.
