{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The Australian Native Bees Series is a thoughtfully designed numismatic collection that features a different native bee species with each release. Australias ecosystem includes more than 1,700 native bee species, and this series brings attention to that diversity through carefully crafted coin designs. Each issue showcases proof-quality finishes along with a hologram detail that highlights the featured bee. BGASC now offers the 2026 1 oz Proof Hologram Niue Silver Carpenter Bee Coin for collectors.
Highlights:
Each 2026 1 oz Proof Hologram Niue Silver Carpenter Bee Coin is delivered in a protective capsule and comes with a presentation box for storage or display. A Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the coin. The Australian Native Bees Series is known for its polished proof finish, combining frosted design elements with mirrored backgrounds and a hologram feature applied directly to the bee.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 Proof Hologram Niue Silver Carpenter Bee Coin features an effigy of King Charles III. The portrait presents the monarch in left-profile relief without a crown. This design is part of the first-generation portraits introduced during his reign and was created by renowned engraver Jody Clark.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 1 oz Proof Hologram Silver Carpenter Bee Coin, a carpenter bee is shown in detailed relief. The bees body and wings include a hologram finish that adds depth and visual contrast. Carpenter bees generally range from half an inch to one inch in length and are easily identified by their smooth, shiny black abdomens, which differ from the fuzzy appearance of bumblebees.
History
Carpenter bees are solitary bees from the genus Xylocopa and are best known for nesting in wood. They bore tunnels into untreated softwoods such as pine, cedar, and redwood to create nesting spaces. Unlike honeybees or bumblebees, carpenter bees do not live in colonies and instead live and nest independently.
