The Horse is the seventh sign of the twelve in the Chinese zodiac and stands for energy, freedom, and confidence. Those born in Horse years are said to be lively, independent, and charming. The Horse year comes around every twelve years and is joyfully celebrated during Lunar New Year festivities throughout East Asia. Right now, 2026 1 oz Royal Australian Mint Silver Year of the Horse Coins are available at BGASC.

Obverse

The obverse of the 2026 Royal Australian Mint Silver Year of the Horse Coin showcases King Charles III in a left-profile design. Around his portrait is the ring of zodiac animals, marking the ongoing cycle of the Lunar calendar.

Reverse

The reverse presents a horse in motion, embodying freedom and vigor. During Fire Horse years, artists often use flowing lines and energetic poses to highlight movement, with the horses mane and tail blending into fiery accents that convey vitality and determination.

History

A Fire Horse year takes place only once every sixty years when the Horse sign coincides with the fire element. The most recent Fire Horse year was 1966, with the previous one in 1906. In Japan and other parts of Asia, this rare pairing has been linked to strong willpower and spirited personalities.
