History
The Royal Dragon became closely tied to Tudor symbolism after Henry VIII inherited it from Henry VII. During the Tudor period, the dragon appeared on royal standards, decorative displays, and palace artwork as a visual reminder of the ruling familys authority. Heraldic creatures like the dragon played an important role in expressing royal identity throughout England at the time.
