{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Issued during the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration, the 2026 Reverse Proof Morgan Silver Dollar with the America 250 Liberty Bell privy mark is an exciting release from the United States Mint. The coin pairs the familiar Morgan Dollar artwork with the striking appearance of a reverse proof finish while adding a commemorative privy mark honoring this historic milestone. Certified examples of the 2026-P Reverse Proof Morgan Silver Dollar are now available at BGASC.
Highlights:
Every 2026-P Reverse Proof Morgan Silver Dollar Coin available here has received a PR70 grade from PCGS. This perfect grade signifies a coin without visible imperfections and with complete original mint quality. The Deep Cameo designation highlights the sharp contrast between frosted devices and reflective fields. The First Day of Issue label identifies coins delivered to PCGS within the first 24 hours after the Mint released them.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026-P Reverse Proof Morgan Dollar features George T. Morgan’s classic Liberty portrait. Using Anna Willess Williams of Philadelphia as his model, Morgan created an image of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap and coronet that has become one of the defining designs in American numismatics.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026-P Reverse Proof Morgan Silver Dollar, the heraldic eagle stands with its wings spread while holding arrows and an olive branch. Fine engraving throughout the feathers and the eagle’s balanced stance give the design remarkable detail and help explain why it remains one of the most recognized reverses in American coinage.
History
Production of the Morgan Dollar resumed in 1921 following passage of the Pittman Act of 1918. The law authorized the melting of millions of silver dollars for use as bullion during World War I and required that replacement dollars be struck afterward using the original Morgan Dollar design. Coins produced at Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco in 1921 display subtle differences from earlier issues because of revised hub preparations.
