Each 2026-W 1 oz Proof American Gold Eagle offered here arrives in a protective capsule. The coin is placed in a presentation box and includes a themed outer shipper. A Certificate of Authenticity from the U.S. Mint is provided with every coin. Gold Eagles are struck using an alloy made up of 91.67% gold, combined with copper and silver for added durability. This special issue includes a dual 1776-2026 date along with a Liberty Bell 250 privy to mark Americas 250th anniversary.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026-W Proof American Gold Eagle features the timeless Lady Liberty design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Liberty strides forward with a torch held high in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. Sun rays extend behind her, while stars circle the outer edge. The U.S. Capitol Building appears in the background near Libertys feet.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2026-W 1 oz Proof American Gold Eagle displays a close-up image of the American bald eagle. Designed by Jennie Norris and introduced in 2020, the eagle is shown in left-profile view with finely engraved feather details and a strong, focused expression.
History
The United States Mint launched the 1 oz Proof American Gold Eagle in 1986 following authorization under the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985. As the main proof issue in the American Gold Eagle lineup, the coin contains one troy ounce of 22-karat gold. Proof coins are struck multiple times using polished dies, giving them mirrored fields and frosted design elements that help distinguish them from bullion strikes.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
