These Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are offered in Mint State 69 condition. Coins at this level show full mint luster with only minor surface marks or hairlines that are not located in major focal areas. Years of issue and slab label styles vary and cannot be selected, as all coins are shipped at random.
Obverse
The obverse of Morgan Silver Dollar Coins features a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty designed by George T. Morgan. Liberty wears a Phrygian cap decorated with cotton and wheat, representing the countrys agricultural roots. The artistic style reflects classical influences, giving the design a timeless look that continues to be appreciated today.
Reverse
On the reverse of Morgan Dollar Coins, the design depicts a heraldic eagle with wings extended. The eagle holds arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing strength balanced with peace. A partial wreath of cotton and wheat surrounds the eagle, mirroring the themes shown on the obverse and creating a unified design.
History
Morgan Dollar production ended after 1904 when silver coinage legislation expired and political support faded. With millions of silver dollars already stored in Treasury vaults, there was little incentive to continue minting new coins. The seventeen-year pause that followed resulted in lasting gaps in the series, contributing to the collectability of certain dates and mintmarks.
