The $10 Indian Gold Eagle was issued by the United States Mint during the early 20th century, serving as a new artistic take on the nations gold coinage. Although referred to as the Indian Gold Eagle, the design on this coin actually features Liberty wearing a feathered headdress often associated with Native American imagery. These coins were produced in select years and are now valued as historical collectibles. Today, BGASC offers certified Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coins for purchase online, each authenticated by either PCGS or NGC.

Highlights:

  • Coins arrive inside of the PCGS or NGC protective plastic slab!
  • Struck between 1907 and 1933!
  • Limited availability of certified Indian Gold Eagles!
  • Contains .48375 Troy oz of actual gold content.
  • Bears a face value of $10 (USD) backed by the federal government.
  • Issued a Grade of Mint State 63 by the Professional Coin Grading Service or Numismatic Guaranty Corporation.
  • Lady Liberty with a feathered headdress is on the obverse.
  • The American bald eagle clutches arrows and an olive branch on the reverse.

Each of the $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coins available here has been graded Mint State 63 by PCGS or NGC. Coins with this grade typically display average luster that may be slightly dulled, with several minor contact marks and some noticeable larger marks. Fine hairlines can also be present and are usually visible to the naked eye.

Obverse

The obverse of the Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle features a portrait of Liberty facing left. She is shown wearing a feathered headdress, and 13 stars curve above her head. The year of issue is engraved below the neckline of the portrait.

Reverse

On the reverse of the coin is a bald eagle standing on a bundle of arrows wrapped in an olive branch. This design differs depending on the year of issuecoins dated 1907 and some from 1908 do not have the national motto. All later issues include In God We Trust on this side of the coin. Both the obverse and reverse were designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, who also created the famous artwork for the $20 Gold Double Eagle.

History

These certified Indian Gold Eagle Coins are sold by BGASC without the ability to choose a specific date or grading service label. The Indian Gold Eagle series was produced each year from 1907 through 1916, and then sporadically between 1920 and 1933 when gold coin production was halted. Once your payment is processed, our team will select your coin at random from available stock.
